*Screams with unimaginable joy. Ahhh friends Athena‘s room is finally finished. You may remember Athena’s bedroom as the bedroom with the cabinets in it from when we first bought our fixer upper.

Athena’s room before
We did a complete gut renovation of Athena’s room, removing every piece of red plaster and stripping the entire space down to the studs before beginning to build it back up. Athena’s room received new sheetrock, paint, flooring, light fixtures, and of course furniture.

Athena’s room mid renovation.
I had a vision for Athena’s room to be a room she could enjoy now, but also grow up in. I wanted to incorporate pieces that make up the perfect little girl’s room now, but are so high quality and timeless that they will last her for years to come. My color palette for her room consisted of bright whites, moody blacks, and a touch of pink. Enter Raymour & Flanigan to bring my vision for Athena’s bedroom furnishings to life. Athena’s room was decorated top to bottom by the amazing team at Raymour & Flanigan. I honestly had no other brand I’d even consider to furnish Athena’s bedroom, my very first bedroom set ever (over 20 years ago) came from them, and I still had the set when I went off to college. So I knew I could trust the quality and durability of their pieces, which is exactly what I was going for in her room as well. I also loved that I could go into their local showroom to chat with the
Home Furnishing Consultants and place my order in store, then have the option to have the pieces either shipped to my home or pick them up in store. Ultimately I chose a mix of contemporary style pieces from their kids collection like this bright white nightstand and matching dresser. and timeless pieces like this oversized pink accent chair and modern black and white carpet. And without any further delay here’s how it turned out 👇
