It's the most wonderful time of the year again! Not much makes me happier than Christmas Time, and this year I was especially excited to get to everything holly and jolly, after all, it has been quite a year. Now, I have to say, Christmas is my holiday, I start planning my Christmas décor for the season around September, and usually I have my tree up well before Thanksgiving. We live in a pretty small apartment, but I always try to maximize the holiday magic in such a small space. Every year we stick to the same color combo in the living room, but I usually try to add new pieces every year, let's face it, shopping for new Holiday Pieces is just fun! This year we were feeling extra festive and decided to incorporate an all new Christmas décor theme into our Kitchen and bedroom, we're calling it "Candy Cane Christmas." Aside from our Christmas Tree, all of our holiday décor was under $50, price point was really important to me this year to share with you all pieces that were not only of excellent quality, and perfect for the Holidays, but that would also fit in everyone's budget.
One of the biggest factors I keep in mind when selecting new Christmas décor is quality, It's always worth it to invest in pieces that are going to last a long time when shopping for holiday décor because you want pieces that you can get out year after year and hold up quality. Our biggest investment is always our artificial Christmas tree, we have a few trees from Kings of Christmas and always love how the look for the Holiday's, and appreciate how well they store and last year after year as well. This year we chose a 7.5' flocked tree, complete with warm lights carefully hidden in the branches.
This year we also bought our new electric fireplace console with Christmas in mind. There's something about the light from a fireplace that just makes me want to brew up some cocoa and re-watch the Grinch for the 999th time. We chose this console because not only were the reviews really great, but so was the price. We chose same day pick up, and ordered online and picked the console up in store a few hours later. My husband says where as the console is heavy, it's fairly simple to assemble also. I love the side storage as well.
This brings me to the garland. We had garland from previous years that we didn't want to use on the new fireplace. I was really particular that the garland had to be thick and weighty, prelit, and be topped with the same flocking as our artificial tree. After doing a lot of searching, my husband came home with this last minute, and it was perfect! Another honorable point to mention with the garland, is that the flocking doesn't shed like other garlands I have. We used two command hooks, to hook two middle sections of garland onto the corners of the console, and it has yet to fall out of place.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a pillows and blankets kind of gal, especially around Christmas time. Something that's really important to me is also space, and unfortunately having 20 Christmas pillows in storage the rest of the year just isn't totally practical, so this year I decided to try pillow cases for half of my festive pillows, and I was so impressed. I combined 4 pillowcases I found on amazon, with some under $15 pillows for a fun, winter wonderland themed couch layout. I also scored a super soft gingham blanket to match for under $25.
The Holiday Coffee Center was a brand new addition to my Christmas setup this year. I wanted this area to resemble a Cocoa Bar with fun colored candies, jars, straws, and mugs. I pulled this entire center together for under $50 and it has quickly become my kid's favorite part of the home (and maybe mine).
I couldn't forget my kitchen, the kids and I love to bake this time of year. My kitchen is small so I decided to stick with simple silver pieces, with unique holiday designs. These pieces, while aren't under $50 are note-worthy because their quality is excellent. I have one of these cake stands for every season, though the Christmas tree on top, may be my favorite. This is perfect for displaying your newly baked treats, or leaving cookies for Santa. I turned my large, silver, antler bowl into a centerpiece for my island by filling it with a mixture of pinecones, and nuts. The intricate antler designs on this piece are beautiful, it's truly a piece of art.
