My Winter Skin-Care Routine

- SHOP THIS POST -

Oh winter you bring me such joy! The cold nights cozied up by the fire, the endless repeat of holiday movies, the cheerful bliss that seems to fill every room I walk into.

Sadly, however my skin doesn’t love you quite so much. The cold weather and brisk wind makes my skin as dry and cracked as a Christmas cookie (fun fact I burn everything I cook).

luckily, I’ve found a skincare routine that puts all the hydration back into my skin, that old man winter seems to suck out.

Step one:

Cleansers never really worked for me the way I wanted them too. The ones I tried always left my skin feeling tacky and unclean (oh the irony). However, I use this micro facial exfoliating masque from Dermelect that clears all the gunk from my pores, and leaves my skin silky smooth. I apply my cleaner with my Soniclear Elite from Michael Todd Beauty, it has 6 speeds and leaves my skin feeling so clean and supple.

Step Two:

This step changes for me depending on the time of day. In the morning, I use this 4-in-1 Cloud Cream Moisturizer from Pur. I don’t think I’ll ever use another moisturizer for the daytime. The name has it right, it feels very cloud like on my skin. Another plus is that it adds hydration without leaving my skin feeling oily. I can apply my makeup right over this without any worry or cakiness.

At night-time I use this Reinvention Cream from MDNA Skin. This is on the pricey side, but a whole jar will last you at least 6 months. I call it my little miracle in a bottle because I’m not quite sure what it does, but I wake up every morning after I apply it, and my skin looks so fresh and glowing.

Step 3:

I never used to use an under eye cream. But this one from Dermelect has a cool metal applicator that helps reduce my under eye bags (and honey they’re not cute Gucci fanny packs, they’re the giant bags my grandma used to carry that have everything in them but the kitchen sink). The cream helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles also, for my combating and preventing the signs of aging is also so important.

Step 4:

I recently discovered this eye gel from Dermelect and I have to say I’m in love. It reduces the appearance of fine lines around the eye area, and I love the fact that it comes in a cooling, gel form. I apply this right around the corners of my eyes over the other eye cream, or as is with my daily moisturizer if I’m in a hurry. It’s quickly become an essential part in my routine.

Step 5:

This is the newest step I’ve added to my daily routine, but it’s quickly become my favorite. I take three drops of Supple Skin Cos Dew Drops, and apply them to my forehead, and both cheeks. This smells heavenly, and gives my skin a soft dewy look.

Step 6:

This is the final step and it contains another MDNA skin miracle product. This Rose Mist spray leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. I love to start my day using this because the mist wakes me up, and smells like roses! What a wonderful way to start your day right?

Bonus step:

I really wanted to include this lip Volumizer from Dermelect as well. It’s not a daily part of my routine but I use it whenever I want my lips to look extra full. I apply it under my makeup without and issues. I also appreciate that it isn’t uncomfortable to wear as other I have tried in the past have been.
